Trees play the pivotal role in maintaining the ecological balance. Trees have been the core of the ancient Indian culture, scriptures and lives. Unfortunately that culture is diminishing today. The so called ‘civilized’ world is emerging at the stake of rampant ravaging of greens. A perfect blend of scientific outlook, cultural heritage and proper education is the need of the hour. Gach Green Hands Social Welfare Trust works passionately towards this goal to achieve sustainability in our society.
We commenced our journey from 5 June, 2019 on the occasion of World Environment Day, by planting 30 saplings. This was possible after appealing for saving and planting trees to people through social media. We conducted tree plantation drive in presence of our honorable IC, of Farakka Police Station. This was the very first attempt of plantation drive in Farakka region, organized by an environmental organization like us. Along with the plantation drive we continue generating environmental awareness among common people.
We also empathized by contributing relief items to the flood stricken people at Farakka, in 2019 and to the Amphan stricken people at Sundarbans in 2020. We reassured the people of Sundarbans at the time of crisis by donating some fruit bearing trees.
The barren lands trigger soil erosion. Therefore, wherever we get to see lands are barren, we make sincere efforts to shower green blessings of trees there. With our relentless attempts of planting native trees we have succeeded reclaiming tracts of waste land.
We work to nurture an overall green culture in the thought process of common people. We are committed to make people environmentally aware and active through our projects of tree-plantation drive and running a school based on this theme.
